Las Periféricas is a collective of Colombian female artists living in Europe, a space where migration, identity, and culture intersect. These women, having migrated to countries such as Germany, Spain, and Sweden, have spent more than six to ten years in their adopted homes. Throughout their journey, they have continuously questioned their identities as migrant women, navigating the cultural, social, and political landscapes of these distinct European territories.Their work stems from the intersection of their origins and the challenges of adapting to new environments.

Their different backgrounds, experiences, and cultural constructions deeply influence their interactions with the societies in which they now live. As migrants, their bodies and identities become sites of transformation and resistance, constantly engaging with the dual pressures of adaptation and self-preservation in these foreign lands.

Las Periféricas not only reflects on the personal impact of migration but also on the broader questions of identity, belonging, and cultural exchange. Their experiences offer a rich source of artistic exploration, touching on themes of displacement, cultural hybridization, and the resilience of the female migrant experience in Europe.
